'Twixt-mas' walking holiday in the Cotswolds
For the third year running we will be basing a 'twixt-mas' holiday in the quintessentially English countryside of the north Cotswolds. If you have family or work commitments over Christmas and New Year this could be the festive break for you.
Our walks will take us through an iconic landscape of undulating hillsides, riverside pasture and honey-coloured stone-built cottages, elegant manor houses and handsome wool churches. Clear winter air should make the views from the Cotswold escarpment outstanding and, if we are exceptionally lucky, we might see wonderful villages such as Stanway, Stanton, Snowshill and Mickleton adorned with a dusting of snow.
The holiday will commence with a welcoming glass of winter punch before dinner on the evening of Monday 27th December and finish after a lunch of hearty soup and sandwiches on Thursday 30th December. Aside from the walking we shall be able to enjoy a 'Best of British' evening with local fare such as Bibury trout, Herefordshire beef and seasonal game, and on another we shall sample a whole range of the traditional British puddings for which Three Ways House Hotel is so famous.
Our 'Twixt-mas' holiday in the Cotswolds will be based at Three Ways House Hotel in the village of Mickleton, just outside the attractive town of Chipping Campden. This award-winning hotel, an extremely worthy winner of 'Best Small Hotel of the Year' category in the 2006/2007 South West of England Excellence in Tourism Awards and holder of a 'Silver' award from the Green Tourism Business Scheme, offers a warm welcome, well-appointed accommodation and superb food.
