Guided Walking Holidays: How To Book

Cancellation

All cancellations must be in writing and are effective from the date received in this office. For a cancellation received more than 56 days before a tour commences the deposit will be forfeit, whilst any other payment towards the cost of the tour will be refunded. For later cancellations the deposit will be forfeit, but any other payment towards the cost of the tour will be refunded less the following charges:

  • 56 - 43 days before the start - 25% of the tour cost
  • 42 - 29 days before the start - 50% of the tour cost
  • 28 - 15 days before the start - 75% of the tour cost

No refund can be given for a cancellation 14 or less days before the start of a tour, or whilst a tour is in progress.

These cancellation fees are implemented in all cases, so we recommend that you are fully covered by a comprehensive travel insurance policy; this will save you the embarrassment of asking us to waive cancellation fees and Footpath Holidays the embarrassment of having to say “no”.

Please see our Travel & Holiday Insurance Information page for details of the type of policy which would be suitable.

Transfer Between Tours

Should you wish to transfer from one tour to another prior to the due date for final payment in respect of the original tour we will be happy to accommodate your request, subject to availability and an administration charge of £20 per person. Requests to transfer beyond the final payment date of the original tour will be treated as a cancellation of the original booking and the appropriate fee will be charged.

Cancellation of Guided Tours

In the unlikely event that fewer than six guests book onto a particular tour we reserve the right to cancel the tour up until six weeks prior to commencement. Guests will have the option to transfer to another available tour without charge or receive a prompt refund of all monies paid.

Complaints

Should you encounter a problem on your holiday, please communicate this to your tour leader, and in all likelihood it can be resolved at the time. Any complaints following a tour should be received in writing within fourteen days of the tour’s conclusion. Complaints received after this date can be very difficult to investigate.
