Pembrokeshire Coast National Park guided walking holidays
The sea cliffs and sandy bays of Pembrokeshire, designated as a National Park in 1952, provide coastal walking at its very best, and there can be no better destination for a guided walking holiday.

The rugged cliffs provide a home for a huge variety of sea birds and from the spring to the autumn the path is a blaze of colour with the myriad species of wild flowers which flourish in the mild south westerly breezes. Off-shore islands appear to float on the sparkling seas and rocky tors crown each headland.
History and legends abound in Pembrokeshire, and our walks take us past ancient burial chambers, promontory forts, chapels and shrines established by Celtic wayfarers travelling between Ireland, Cornwall and Brittany. Many of the stones for Stonehenge are said to have been dragged the 200 miles from Preseli and the atmosphere of these lonely hills, with their views out to sea, is one which conjures images of ancient civilisations and mystical beliefs.
We walk some of the finest stretches of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, including those around St David’s Head, Carregwastad Head and St Justinian; we visit the attractive villages of Porthgain, Newgale, Abereiddy and Solva, with its fjord-like harbour; and marvel at the splendid seascapes afforded by Carn Llidi and Strumble Head.
On the May tour the free day will, weather permitting, be replaced with an excursion to visit the island of Skomer. Situated just off-shore from mainland Pembrokeshire Skomer is a National Nature Reserve and home to some half a million seabirds including the world's largest colony of Manx shearwaters, and, of course, 6,000 breeding pairs of puffins. Other birds which inhabit the island include curlews, short-eared owls, ravens, choughs, buzzards, kestrels and peregrine falcon. Skomer is also famous for its wonderful display of bluebells, which along with the cushions of campion and thrift make a colourful display. Guests can choose to explore independently, or to join our leader on a guided tour of the island. All costs relating to the visit, including the boat trip across to Skomer, and the landing fee, are including in the price of the holiday.
We stay at Warpool Court Hotel [AA/RAC***, WTB****], which stands in extensive gardens overlooking St Bride’s Bay on the edge of the tiny cathedral ‘city’ of St David’s.
Warpool Court is something special; set in a magnificent coastal location, with breath-taking views both out to sea and inland, it provides a very high standard of comfort in well appointed rooms, many of which are decorated with tiles, beautifully hand painted by the artist Ada Williams who lived in the house during the early 1900’s.
The hotel’s restaurant holds two AA rosettes and an RAC Merit award for the excellence of its cuisine. The hotel has a covered heated swimming pool. All bedrooms have ensuite facilities.
