Angles’ Way

6 days walking, based in Great Yarmouth

Our tour base

The Angles Way is a 77 mile (124 km) walk from Great Yarmouth on the Norfolk coast to Knettishall Heath in the Brecklands, and is named after the ancient Germanic tribe who settled the east of England during the Dark Ages. The route passes through a wide variety of scenery including the unique wetlands of the Norfolk Broads, rich riverside pasture, Norfolk Breckland with its colourful heath and light woodland, and many attractive villages. Other points of interest along the way include the Roman remains at Burgh Castle, the colourful bustle of Oulton Broad and the market town of Beccles. A relaxed pace will allow time to enjoy the wealth of birdlife, butterflies and wild flowers which we will undoubtedly encounter in the wetland nature reserves and meadows.

This tour will be of particular interest to those guests who have already completed the Weavers' Way which finished in Great Yarmouth.
