Angles’ Way

Tour details

Great Yarmouth our base for the Angles’ Way, is a popular seaside resort on the East Anglian coast, famous since Victorian times for its miles of sandy beaches. Prior to Victorian times Yarmouth was a thriving port with a safe natural harbour formed by a spit of land between the sea and the River Yare. In the old part of the town where South Quay faces onto the river, there are many fine buildings dating from the Tudor, Georgian and Victorian era.

Great Yarmouth has one of the largest market squares in the country, some well-preserved sections of the 13th century town walls, and a 13th century Tollhouse which is thought to be the oldest civic building in Britain.

Great Yarmouth has a wide variety of shops and facilities, and plenty of hotels and pubs offering food in the evening.

The daily meeting point in Great Yarmouth is outside the Tourist Information Centre on Marine Parade, close to Britannia Pier.
