Yorkshire Dales Centurion Walk

9 days walking and one ‘rest’/transfer day
(21-24 July based in Sedbergh, 25 July rest/transfer day, 26-30 July based in Kettlewell)

The Yorkshire Dales Centurion Walk is a 100 mile (160km) circular challenge route which heads for the high ground. During the course of the walk it 'bags' not only the summits of all three of the 'Yorkshire Three Peaks' - Ingleborough, Whernside and Pen-y-Ghent - but also another seven over the 2,000' mark. Fittingly, the walk will start and finish at the Pen-y-Ghent Café in Horton-in-Ribblesdale.

The variety of scenery encountered along the route is wonderful - limestone pavements and outcrops in Ribblesdale and Wharfedale; smooth velvety hillsides in the Howgills; wild expanses of cotton grass around Tan Hill; heather moorland on the high tops; grazed pasture and stone barns in Wensleydale and Swaledale; rivers and waterfalls. Everything that makes the Yorkshire Dales National Park a great area for walking.

On this particular tour logistical considerations mean that we shall change from one base to another part way through the tour (see above).
