Coast to Coast, Central - Richmond
Richmond, our base for the central section of the Coast to Coast, is an historic town standing on the banks of the river Swale and dominated by its fine 11th century castle. There are numerous fine buildings and places of interest, including the unique Georgian theatre which dates from 1788, a curious parish church which once had a row of shops below the north isle, and a cobbled market square. Richmond has a good range of shops, several restaurants and a number of pubs offering bar meals.
The daily meeting point in Richmond is outside the Tourist Information Centre in Friary Gardens.
