Dales Way - Sedbergh

Tour Details

Sedbergh, our base for the Dales Way, is a fine old Dales market town ideally situated on the route and in the Cumbrian section of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The distinctive Howgill Fells rise immediately outside the town. The town has many interesting and historic buildings, including the parish church of St Andrew which dates from Norman times, Webster’s Chemist Shop which dates from the early 17th century, and Weavers’ Yard where the first looms in Sedbergh were set up. Sedbergh has a famous public school originally founded in 1525. Sedbergh has a range of shops and facilities, including several restaurants and pubs serving bar meals.

The daily meeting point in Sedbergh is outside the National Park Centre in Main Street.
