Furness Way

6 days walking, based in Cartmel

Our tour base

The Furness Way is a 75 mile (121km) walk from Arnside on the eastern side of Morcambe Bay to Ravenglass on the Irish Sea. It traverses the peaceful southern section of the Lake District National Park which was known for centuries as Furness.

The route crosses the lesser known Lakeland fells of Whitbarrow, Yewbarrow, Hampsfell and Muncaster Fell, all of which offer memorable views northwards to the Lakeland massif and seawards to Snaefell on the Isle of Man.

It also visits the lonely and secluded Duddon and Eskdale valleys, and the stately homes of Levens Hall and Sizergh Castle which stand undisturbed in a beautiful landscape.

This tour will be of particular interest to those guests who have already completed the Cumberland Way and the Westmorland Way and wish to close the triangle.
