Furness Way - Cartmel

Cartmel, our base for the Furness Way, is a quiet and historic village sitated in just outside the Lake District National Park, two miles north of the Edwardian seaside resort of Grange-over-Sands. The village is famed for its beautiful 12th century priory church. There are several pubs and restaurants which serve food in the evenings.

The daily meeting point in Cartmel is the Market Cross in the centre of the village.

How to reach Cartmel by public transport

The nearest railway station is at Grange-over-Sands (2 miles distant). From Grange Stagecoach North West operate a limited bus service to Cartmel. National Express run a limited coach service to Kendal, and from Kendal there are regular Stagecoach North West buses to Grange-over-Sands and a limited service to Cartmel itself.
