Walking Holidays: Long Distance Paths and National Trails

Daypack Hikes: a different approach to Long Distance Paths

Have you ever yearned for a walking holiday along one of Britain’s many Long Distance Paths and National Trails but found yourself put off by the thought of packing damp clothes into a heavy rucksack every morning, walking alone, prebooking numerous guesthouses, or being unsure whether the route would be easy to follow?

If so, we have the solution! Join one of our guided walking groups.

For over a decade, we have been operating guided walking holidays along many Long Distance Paths and National Trails. What distinguishes our walking holidays is that we have eliminated the need for daily packing and moving on.

Daypack Hikes are guided walking holidays based at one suitable location on, or adjacent to, the walking route.

Footpath Holidays provides transport from a prearranged meeting point to the start of each day’s stage and transport back to that same point at the end of each walking stage. We also provide an experienced walk leader.

Long Distance Paths and National Trails in England

This year’s Daypack Hike guided walking holiday programme takes in a fantastic array of England’s Long Distance Paths and Trails. We will be walking, the Mendip Way the Stour Valley Way and the Cotswolds Way in the south and south west, and the Pennine Way, Coast to Coast Walk, Herriot Way, Hadrian’s Wall Path and the Northumberland Coast Path in the north.

Wonderful countryside is not exclusive to named Long Distance Paths and National Trails so we are also featuring a selection of classic walks from four of England's most scenic areas; Purbeck, the Derbyshire Dales, the Shropshire Hills and Wharfedale in the Yorkshire Dales.

Long Distance Paths and National Trails in Wales and Scotland

Our walking holiday programme in Wales include the wonderful Anglesey Coast Path and the Monnow Valley Way, whilst in Scotland we are offering the Borders Abbeys Way, St Cuthbert’ Way and the West Highland Way.
