Mortimer Trail

Tour details

Ludlow our base for the Mortimer Trail, is the historic ‘capital’ of the Welsh Marches. The huge 12th century castle stands on a bluff overlooking the River Teme and dominates the town. Ludlow has one of the most handsome high streets in the country with some superb half-timbered buildings, including the elaborate Feathers Hotel. Ludlow was the first town in Britain to become a Cittaslow. Ludlow has also earned a reputation as one of the best eating places outside of London and boasts several restaurants with Michelin stars, but for those on a more modest budget there are still plenty of other placers offering meals in the evening.

The daily meeting point in Ludlow is outside the Tourist Information Centre in Castle Street.
