Berwick-upon-Tweed our base for the Northumberland Coast Path and Berwickshire Coast Path, is the northern-most town in England, and situated immediately south of the Scottish border, at the mouth of the River Tweed. Berwick is a fine historic market town and has some of the best preserved town walls and fortifications in Britain. It also has a succession of fine bridges across the Tweed, including a 15-span bridge measuring over 1,000ft in length which dates from 1610, and is still in use as a road bridge today. Berwick-upon-Tweed has a good variety of independent shops, and plenty of hotels, restaurants and pubs serving food in the evening.

The daily meeting point in Berwick-upon-Tweed will be is outside the Town Hall in Marygate.

How to reach Berwick-upon-Tweed by public transport

Berwick-upon-Tweed has its own mainline railway station on the main east coast line. National Express run a limited coach service to Berwick-upon-Tweed.
