Rob Roy Way

7 days walking based in Callander

Our tour base

The Rob Roy Way runs for 79 miles (127kms) through the central highlands of Scotland from Drymen near Loch Lomond to the attractive town of Pitlochry on the river Tummel. The majority of the route falls within the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park and passes through countryside which has associations with the outlaw and popular Scottish hero, Rob Roy McGregor.

The variety of scenery encountered in the National Park is superb; tranquil lochs, heather-clad moorland, rocky mountain views, tumbling rivers and waterfalls, woods bursting with bird song, handsome stands of Scots pine and a wealth of wildlife.

Highlights of the tour include Aberfoyle and the romantic landscape of the Trossachs, the busy little town of Callander (Tannoch Brae to those old enough to remember Dr Finlay’s Casebook!), the magnificent Falls of Dochart at Killin, Loch Tay and the views of Ben Lawers and Schiehallion, and the beautiful wooded gorge of the Birks o’ Aberfeldy.
