South Devon Coast Path, Eastern Section
Sidmouth, our base for the eastern section of the South Devon Coast Path, is a genteel seaside resort with an old world charm. There are many fine Regency buildings along the seafront promenade, pleasant public parks and gardens, and a clean pebble beach. The town is flanked on either side by red sandstone cliffs, and falls within the East Devon and Dorset ‘Jurassic Coast’ World Heritage Site. Sidmouth has a good variety of shops and facilities, and plenty of hotels, restaurants and pubs serving food in the evening.
The daily meeting point in Sidmouth is outside the Tourist Information Centre in Ham Lane, just off the Esplanade.
