Stour Valley Way
6 days walking, based in Blandford Forum
Blandford Forum, our base for the Stour Valley Way, is a quiet market town which grew up at an ancient crossing point on the River Stour. The town was burnt to the ground in 1731 and the entire centre was rebuilt over the following decade with some of the most handsome and uniformly Georgian architecture in Britain. Blandford has a good variety of shops, and a variety of hotels, restaurants and pubs serving food in the evening.
The daily meeting point in Blandford Forum is outside the Tourist Information Centre.
