Classic Walks in Wharfedale & Littondale
6 days walking, based in Grassington
Few British walkers need any introduction to the limestone dales of Yorkshire. It is an iconic Karst landscape, and those who have experienced its joys are happy to return time and time again. Those visiting for the first time will not be disappointed as this is an area which more than lives up to its reputation. The scenery is typified by steep-sided valleys rising to limestone grassland and open moorland; verdant pasture; crystal-clear rivers; attractive stone-built villages; and some superb expanses of natural limestone pavement.

Our programme of walks will take us through the glorious scenery of Wharfedale, Littondale (Emmerdale of soap opera fame) and Malhamdale. We will explore the limestone scenery around Malham Cove and the sylvan beauty of Grass Wood; take in the exhilarating views from Old Cote Moor Top, Conistone Pie and Starbotton Cam Pasture; discover the hidden delights of the Monks' Road and Davy Dimple; and pass through the lovely villages of Kettlewell, Malham, Buckden, Arncliffe and Litton. We base ourselves in the charming little market town of Grassington.
