Grassington, our base for 'Classic Walks in Wharfedale & Littondale', is the 'capital' of Upper Wharfedale and ideally situated for the best of the walking. Although small in size the town has a good range of services and facilities, mainly clustered around the central cobbled market square. The town also has a National Park Visitor Centre and the Upper Wharfedale Folk Museum containing many interesting exhibits relating to life from by-gone days. There are a number of inns and restaurants in Grassington which serve food in the evenings, whilst the surrounding villages, also have a number of quality eating places.

The daily meeting point in Grassington is the car park of the National Park Visitor Centre.

How to reach Grassington by public transport

The nearest railway station to Grassington is Skipton (nine miles distant). From Skipton there is a regular bus service (No. 72 and 72R) to Grassington, run by Pride of the Dales. National Express run a limited coach service to skipton.
