North Cornwall. May 21 - May 26, 2023

Sunday: From the sandy sweep of Constantine Bay and Booby Bay we will follow the Coast Path along the clifftop to Trevose Lighthouse, with its outstanding views, and then down into Harlyn Bay. From Harlyn Bay we will walk alongside colourful slate 'hedges' festooned in flowers, and with magnificent views along the coast, to the village of Trevone. From there we cross plant-rich grassland with its abundance of birdlife and flowers to reach the Daymark (a navigational aid for sea-farers) in its airy location on Stepper Point. A walk inland along the Camel Estuary will bring us to the historic town of Padstow, from where we will cross to Rock on the Black Tor Ferry, one of the oldest ferry crossings in Europe.

Tuesday: From the picturesque harbour of Boscastle we will head up onto the cliff tops to walk through beautiful clifftop pastures and occasionally drop down into secluded, wooded valleys. From the Coast Path there are far-reaching vistas, the most spectacular being from the stunning viewpoint of Ladies Window. We will venture down into Rocky Valley with its steeply tumbling river and dramatic rock formations, before heading back up onto the clifftop for the final stretch around to the village of Tintagel, with its medieval castle with Arthurian connections on an 'island' jutting out into the sea. We will cross to the castle on the recently built 'sky bridge', an airy cantilever footbridge which links the mainland with the castle and provides wonderful views of both. Beyond Tintagel the clifftop path leads around Dunderhole Point to reach the attractive beach at Trebarwith Strand and the welcoming Port William Inn.
