Single Centre Self-guided Holidays

Frequently Asked Questions

What sort of accommodation does Footpath Holidays use?

Footpath Holidays always puts a considerable amount of time and effort into finding high quality accommodation in the finest locations, and right in the midst of the walking. Our priorities are a warm welcome, comfortable and well appointed rooms.

Our prices are based on two guests sharing a twin or double-bedded room, however, we can cater for single travellers, subject to a supplement.

Dinner, bed and breakfast option

All of the accommodation which we use for the self-guided half-board option is in comfortable country house or small hotels. All rooms have fully ensuite bathroom facilities (toilet, bath and/or shower), television, direct dial telephone, free WiFi, and tea and coffee making facilities. All meals are taken in the hotel’s own restaurant, and you can expect a high standard of cuisine and service. A description of each hotel that we use appears on the relevant destination page.

All the hotels which we use have been inspected under the nationally recognised standards scheme, and their respective grading appears in the individual hotel description. Some hotels are also members of the Green Tourism Business Scheme and hold an award which reflects their commitment to running their business in an environmentally sensitive manner. If you would like to know more about a particular hotel you will find a link through to their own website from our hotel description.

Bed and breakfast option

For the self-guided bed and breakfast option we use quality family-run guest houses. All rooms have ensuite bathroom facilities (toilet, bath and/or shower) and tea and coffee making facilities. Most will also offer free WiFi. The establishment chosen will depend upon availability and the size and make up of the party involved. Where possible we choose a guest house which is a member of the Green Tourism Business Scheme and holds an award which reflects their commitment to running their business in an environmentally sensitive manner.

"Our walking is now done. We want to thank you for a wonderful program as well as your choice of accommodation. Of course we must also thank you for arranging unbelieveably good weather!!! You should definitely take the credit. There is no question that when we next walk in England we will be working with you."
