Frequently Asked Questions

What happens on a typical day?

Each day the group assembles at the daily meeting point at 9.15am and, unless the walk stage is one which requires us to walk directly from the meeting point, a minibus will pick us up and drive us to the start of the day’s walk stage. We ask guests to arrive at the meeting point promptly so that the minibus can leave on time.

From the start of each day’s walk stage we walk the designated route, with a break of around forty minutes to eat a picnic lunch (which you must provide for yourself), plus a couple of other short breaks mid-morning and mid-afternoon. We try and arrange the minibus pick up at the end of the day’s walk stage to allow for a relaxed but steady pace of walking, plus time to admire views, take photographs, and explore villages. The minibus returns the group to the same point from which they were picked up in the morning, and the members of the group then disperse to their various accommodations.

We do tend to find that once they have become acquainted on the first day’s walk quite a few members of the group meet up again in the evening to socialise, but this is entirely at the discretion of the individuals concerned.
