Classic Walks in in the Derbyshire Dales

6 days walking, based in Buxton

Our tour base

Set in the 'White Peak' area of the Peak District National Park, the Derbyshire Dales offer a wonderful diversity of scenery - tranquil wooded river valleys, limestone pasture, spectacular limestone gorges and picturesque villages. This diversity, together with the generally excellent underfoot conditions, makes this a superb destination for a relaxing walking holiday.

Our walks will enjoy the world-famous beauty of Dovedale where the sparkling River Dove twists and turns as it passes through narrow wooded gorges and below limestone pinnacles; explore the lesser-known, but equally beautiful, Beresford Dale; Wolfescote Dale, Manifold Valley, and Cressbrook Dale; marvel at the views from Thorpe Cloud and The Roaches; and visit Ashford-in-the-Water, Ilam, Biggin, Youlgreave, Monyash, Foolow and the atmospheric plague village of Eyam. The October dates should see the wooded flanks of the steep-sided valleys vibrant with autumn tints.
