Pennine Way

The Pennine Way, which follows the backbone of England from the Derbyshire Peak District to the Scottish border is one of Britain's most challenging National Trails. The 268 mile route, which passes through three National Parks, a European Geo-park, and a World Heritage Site, provides upland walking of the highest order. Footpath Holidays offers the route as three separate holidays, which allow guests the choice of completing the route over several years in manageable one week stages, or stringing all three together into an epic journey. More

Coast to Coast

The route which crosses the north of England from Coast to Coast was made famous by the late Alfred Wainwright whose guidebooks have introduced so many to the joys of walking in this area. It takes in three National Parks; the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and the North Yorkshire Moors and divides naturally into three sections. Footpath Holidays offers three tours, each of which offer fine walking in their own right, and when strung together enable our guests to tackle a challenging 190 mile route in its entirety. More

South West Coast Path

The South Coast Path is currently England's longest National Trail and stretches for 630 miles (1,014kms) from Minehead on the Somerset to Poole on the Dorset coast. Over the next few years we will be offering a guided walk along the whole of the South West Coast Path. In 2019 we will be offering two stretches; Minehead to Instow from a base in Lynton and Instow to Crackington Haven from a base in Bude. Taken together the two holidays will provide 133 miles (216kms) of fantastic coastal walking, but either section is a great walk in its own right. A Pennine Journey

7 days walking, based in Sedbergh

In 1938, with the shadow of war looming, Alfred Wainwright took some holiday and set off for a circular walk which would take him north from Settle, along the eastern flank of The Pennines and through the Yorkshire Dales, along one of the finest stretches of Hadrian’s Wall, and then back down the western flank of the Pennines to his original start point. A Pennine Journey is broadly based upon his challenging route.

In 2017 we began the process of offering successive sections of the Pennine Journey, giving guests the opportunity to complete this challenging route in manageable stages over three weeks. In 2019 we shall be continuing where we left off in 2018, with the stretch from Garrigill to Settle. More

The Yorkshire Wolds Way National Trail runs for 79 miles (129kms) through the chalk hills of the Yorkshire Wolds. The Yorkshire Wolds are the northern extremity of the same band of chalk which forms the white cliffs of Dover and also surfaces in Dorset, Wiltshire, on the Chilterns and on the Berkshire Downs. This makes them something of anomaly - a classic southern English landscape set amongst the wild country of the north. More
